Understand the Science
Children explore what emotions are, how the body participates in emotional experiences, and how emotions can influence decisions and behavior.
I’m a psychology graduate and experienced online educator who has taught emotional learning to families for years.
Why do we feel the things we feel? Why do we react differently to the same situations? And how can understanding ourselves help us connect better with others?
These questions have shaped much of my life.
I earned my degree in Psychology and began my teaching career in Montreal, Canada. Along the way, I discovered something unexpected: studying acting taught me just as much about human behaviour as studying psychology. Stepping into different characters' shoes meant exploring their fears, hopes, motivations, and emotions. It was a wonderful lesson in empathy.
My curiosity about people eventually took me around the world. I've taught children in Thailand and lived in countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America. Each new culture reminded me that while our lives may look very different, we share so many of the same feelings, challenges, and dreams.
Today, I bring those experiences together to help children explore the fascinating world of emotions, thoughts, and behaviour.
My goal is simple: to help kids understand themselves, appreciate others, and develop the emotional skills they'll carry with them for life.
And if we can have some fun along the way? Even better!
Children explore what emotions are, how the body participates in emotional experiences, and how emotions can influence decisions and behavior.
I use familiar stories, books, movies, and characters to make complicated emotional concepts easier to understand.
Students learn to distinguish emotions, thoughts, physical sensations, choices, and actions.
Before creating Learn Emotions, I taught children about emotions and emotional intelligence on Outschool for years.
My Outschool teaching history includes 173 parent reviews.
Read Parent ReviewsStudents are not asked to share private emotional experiences in a therapeutic way.
Learn Emotions provides educational programs and tutoring. It does not provide psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, crisis services, or medical treatment.
The lessons help students construct a clearer understanding of emotions. They are not designed to evaluate or treat a child’s emotions.
